Humid hide addiction?

I have a year old fat tail that stays in his humid hide all the time unless he's eating. Is this normal?

How hot would you say the basking spot gets?
It could be to warm cauising him to only seek a cool humid hide.
In addition they are a tropical species

I guess he just likes his humidity. I keep the temps where they're supposed to be...I was just wondering

Raise the humidity in the rest of the tank and he should spend some more time outside of the box.
