humid hide question

Nothing major, I was just wondering......

I just made a humid hide for my boy Ronin, and about 30 minutes after I put it in the tank, he loves it...

My question is......is spending too much time in it bad for them? he seems to be spending more time in there then anywhere else...lol He has a cave over the UTH and a tree branch under the heat lamp. The moist hide is between the UTH and the heat lamp so it's not too hot on either side, just stays nice.

Is it normal for them to spend more time in there then say, in their cave?

I t is fine if he stays in there as they seem to love it better and the humid hide should be on the warm end at all times.

Thanks so much Daidra. |The reptile guy told me to leave it half and half so it wouldn't dry out to quickly....lol

Half and half is fine too. Many keep it on the cool side however. Tremper says warm side.
I think a lot depends on where you live. TX or FL could be fine on the cool side but northern states might be better on warm side.
I am putting a small UTH under all my moist hides to provide some heat but not too much....78-80 degrees might be good. They will go to the warmer 90 degree hide when they need to. They are smart critters!
