One of my new geckos is about 4 months old. When we first brought her home i had vermiculite as a substrate in her moist hide. I don't see her drinking from her water dish, but I do see her licking inside the hide. Problem was, it looked like as she licked, she was scooping up and ingesting some vermiculite (my vermiculite seems to be pretty fine, and I can't seem to find coarser). I switched it out for dampened paper towel. How should I handle this? I'd like her to have vermiculite so she can dig if she wants to. Should I just wait until she's older?
She's otherwise perfect... happy and eats well.
