where should my humid hide be? Some are saying that it should be on opposite side then I heard that some have it on warm side.. I am getting 200 dollar petsmart gift card and going to shop for my leo also if someone can redirect me to the best set up possible i will be so thankful

My cool hide doubles as the humid hide as a 10gal tank is low on floor space and it gets warm enough for the cool/moist hide to still get humid.

Is it good to have two light sources red and UV when you have a 20 gallon? because not the whole tank gets heat from the light? I have a UV and a Red Bulb.

My suggestion to you, and probably the suggestion of the majority on this forum, is to use strictly a UTH (under tank heater). You can use the red bulb for possible supplemental heating but, mostly for night time viewing.

I am fairly new on this forum and have had my leo for only about two weeks or so but, I have been researching on this forum for months.

Hope this helps :0)

I use a Uvb bulb to help me maintain temps along with my under tank heater..

Same. I use a UTH and a 50watt bulb on the same side which I turn off when the sun sets (just the bulb). I'm going to be getting a red light next to it soon for night viewing though.

This is what I have, if you want to compare :) It's a 20 long :) The log is the cool hide, the middle rock-like one is the humid hide, and the brown one all the way on the right is the hot hide :)

My suggestions:

I suggest getting rid of the UVB bulb because I heard leos can get UV poisoning. I don't know if that's actually true, but I read it many places. Maybe, instead of UVB, you can get a heat lamp. Also, I would get thermometers with a probe, it's wayyy more accurate. You don't want the wall temperature or the air temperature, you want the floor temperature. Floor heat is more important since leos need belly heat. To add, I think I see a humidity gage (is that what you call it? xD) there, and it's not really necessary. They just need one humid hide and they're fine. Speaking of hides, I would add more. One dry hide on the hot side, one dry hide on the cool side, and one humid hide on the hot side :) I would put at least 2 hides, but more is better. Also, if you don't already have one, I would get a thermostat/rheostat. I have the zilla temperature controller, and 2 zoomed probe thermometers (they're really cheap so I highly recommend getting that instead of the stick-on-wall ones), although you really only need one for the hot side. Oh, one more thing. Always have a dish of pure calcium in the tank; I don't think I see one in yours. Hope I helped! :)

You can just cut a hole out of a tupperware container for the humid hide, that's what the majority of people do. Then you can use the log for a normal hide since, unless the black rock is a hide, your gecko will be forced to use the humid hide even if it doesn't want to.

The black thing is a hide two holes on end and two on sides, I had a tupperware hide but I though it out with the old tank.
