Humid Hide

I was wondering if there was a specific level of humidity in my humid hide that I should be aiming for.

I line the bottom with damp paper towels. Would sphagnum be better?

And, the container I'm using is clear plastic and I also wanted to know if anyone knew of a safe way to make it look more natural. Is gluing on sticks/fake leaves fine or is there some other product I should be looking for? I live in Canada.

Thanks

Bed a Beast is the best for humid hides. They love it and it stays moist a long time. Very comfy.

But you should be careful with loose substrates, some will eat it.

I use paper towels and just mist them every day, or every other day. If I see him looking dull or dusty, I mist it more to make sure it stays moist.

I use moss and so far its been good. Havent had any incidents with them eating it and it keeps damp for a while.

It stinks a bit though when u wet it and sometimes their viv smells like a swamp lol

It must be comfy as my girly likes it a lot..a little too much i think >.<

I think you just have to see what works best for you and ur little friends and what ur budget allows and how easy it is to get. I order moss online and while its not really really exspensive it is more exspensive than say paper towel. And in the end your just gonna throw it away anyway hehe

I use a clear plastic tub with a hole cut in the lid and mine dont seem to mind it :) I know it doesnt look very natural but neither does kitchen paper, plastic leaves and wires and probes all over ;) Better safe than sorry though eh? ;)
