i have my 4month old mack snow "Blizzy" in a 15 gallon should i put the humidity box on the side with the UTH? to keep it warmer?

also she started shedding a few days ago and has yet to get rid of the skin on her legs and eye lids is this a problem? should i leave her be or scare her by trying to take it off for her?

most people put the humid hide on the warm side. it gets kind of cold in there when it's on the cold side.

if she doesn't get it off herself you'll have to help her. there's a few threads on shedding in the health forum that have some advice.

I've seen lots of ppl keep the humid hide on the warm side, but it's still debated...urban gecko for example puts them on the cool side...(www.theurbangecko.com)..

as far as the humid hide getting cold...the cool side should still be 75-80ish right? And besides, if they are cool they can warm up on the other side...anyway for now my moist hides are all on the cool side and they spend a lot of time in them..

If someone knows for a fact that the humid hide needs to be on the warm side and has reasons for that then i'd like to know....because really I'm new and i want to do it right..

because water takes a long time to change temperature if you have just dampened the hide then it will be cooler than the air temp, unless you used warm water.

i don't really think it matters which side its on as long as it's being used. mine is on the very edge of the warm side so it's not as hot as the hot side or as cool as the cool side and it gets used a fair amount. he just hates going in there if i have just moistened it.
