My gecko doesn't like moist paper towels in her hide. :main_angry:

How can she get the moisture when he/she won't go near them. He/she waits until they dry or poops on them. I gave her a new hide and she uses it as a litter box.

Any suggestions?

Try some moss in the hide instead of paper towel. If that fails, you can also try vermiculite or coco fiber.

I don't know where to buy that. Pet supply stores?

I just put some damp towels in his warm hide for now.

He's been pooping in his cool hide all week. :blank: I just found it all. Disinfecting as we speak.

I think I'm figuring this out.

I had the under the tank heater on the side because I was worried it would harm the furniture or it would get too hot. Using it a few days, I realize it doesn't get that warm.

This morning I wiped down the tank and decided to put the heater underneath.

Also, I moistened the hide.

He/she's using it now. I guess it just wasn't warm enough under there.

Success!!
