Humidity

Well, we lost our first leo last month. I want to make sure I am doing everything right with our new girl.

Question: We live on the coast, so the humidity is naturally higher in our area. The tank is reading between 65-70%, is this going to be a problem?

We are only heating the tank with a UTH, no light heat at all. I was told to stop using light (red light) to heat. How would I go about lowering the humidity?

I am keeping the warm side at around 90-92, and the other side is reading about 65. I hope this is good enough!

Thanks for any input

I live on the coast too and I don't really pay too much attention to the humidity. I have a humid hide and regular hide. I use both red light heat and UTH in the winter but in the summer I just use the UTH. I keep my hot side around 90 as you do but I try and keep my cool side around the mid to high 70s. I like to see my cool side 78. I haven't had any problems.

i never really pay attention to my leos humidity since the only time i spray the tank is like once when s/hes about to go into shed other then that i just leave a humid hide and dont worry much about it.

I live in a humid region, during Spring if the humidity is over 75% I will turn on either the air conditioner or a dehumidifier; if its under (still be in the high 60s), I just leave it as it is. My geckos seems to do fine in those humidities. At least for a few months.
