i have like these little plastic cups with tight lids... i put them on the hot side with tiny little holes on the lid... not super tiny, but small enough that the roaches can't get in... and i mist every once in a wile... make sure you don't drench the egg crate...
well... the guy that i got them from says that he has the heat mats full blast... um... supposedly they will temp regulate themselves by moving up and down the egg crates...
dubia are a tropical species of roach. i use a heat mat on one end of the tub and it stays around 95 degrees consistently. the egg crates will diffuse some of the heat, and as far as humidity, spraying down the sides of the tub every other day or so will help. but it also depends on your water source. ive used the water gel crystals before, but didn't like the results. my setup has a fresh orange halve, some carrots, and apple wedges along with a small bowl of cat food for protein. humidity stays constant with this setup and i rarely have to mist. if the humidity is too low, you will start losing roaches that are unable to molt properly. a dead giveaway is dead roaches in your tub that look as if they were about to molt, or mid molt.
Okay thanks a lot...All I need to buy now is water crystals I have cricket quencher but I need to buy the dry ones now ... Maybe some roach chow...I make my own homemade gut load consisting of many different things so I may just feed them that. How is the roach chow from the roach ranch?
