I live in coastal NJ. A state of emergency was just put into effect. The hurricane is suppose to hit on Sunday sometime along with its very strong winds. If i have to evacuate I am taking my leopard gecko and bearded dragon with me. In case of the power going out, any ideas on how to keep them warm??

Thanks!

you can buy a AC/DC power converter (best buy/walmart/fry's/ect) for your car's cigarette lighter, then plug a thermostat and heat pad into the converter.

Good Idea Landen, I didnt even know they sold them. I was worried about all my eggs in the bator and was thinking of containing the S.I.M. container in a larger one with heat packs and stay right with them to let the temp out if it gets to hot. I think I will go and buy what you mentioned and get my other incubator set up in the car and regulate the temps now. Thanks for the heads up!

If you have any space left over in your incubator, you can double- or triple-bag ziplocs full of water to act as a heat sink surrounding the egg containers. If power is lost, the water slowly releases its heat, slowing down the rate of temperature decline.
