The Problem is, a hyper xanthic everyone knows as the yellowish gecko that Jeff&Jeff put time and energy in to achieve it :)
Its actually a High Yellow but they linebreed it so long that the CT sometimes or oftent? is also yellow.
Took much time and the name belongs to their line :)
It´s like Electric Tangerine or Blood Hypo.
Yours would be named High Yellow but you could have good results breeding it to a Hyper Xanthic.

Take care

Sorry for lame question again but why can't i call it Hyper Xanthic

Because Hyper Xanthic is the name of JMG's line that they have spent years developing. If it doesn't trace back to their line, it is not a Hyper Xanthic. You could use it to help develop your own high yellow line if that is a project that interests you, but taking the name of an established line when yours is unrelated is not right, just like it wouldn't be right to call a tangerine unrelated to Kelli's line an Electric Tang, or a tangerine tremper that didn't descend from Urban Gecko stock a TUG Sunglow.

In my opinion ,and coming from a scientific nomenclature perscpective for decribing phenotypes, hyper xanthic simply translates into very high yellow. Jmg has a line they call hyperxanthic but it's not a patented trade name nor should it be. It is simply a very good descriptive name just like hypo melanistic. I think simply saying JMG line hyper xanthic is appropriate to give them their credit. Electric tangerine does nicely describe the high contrast flourescent tangerine color, but it is still more of a trade name or "hyped" urban style name, but it's not a good descriptive name from nomenclature perspective. (just an example) I think your fine to call something hyperxanthic if it shows more yellow than the wild type period, but it's not the JMG line.

Thanks for all the advice. So if i create a line morph and i call it something thats not yet known i will be the right full owner to that name and morph almost like royalties !!!! I just want to clarify things, not to step on anybodies toes. What morphs is out there thats been created by individuals thats got that right ? I know the TUG Snow, Gem Snow, the different albinos, Electric Tangs, Hyper Xanthic any others.
So if a gecko looks like a specific morph one can't always call it the same name ?

Line names are given to line bred morphs by their creators, so yes you could do that if you decide to pursue your own project with this gecko. Some examples are the various tangerine lines like Nieves, HISS Electrics, Tangerine Tornadoes, and others like Blood Hypos, Albey's line bred Snow, etc. All of these are the result of years of selective breeding, not a simple mutation like the various albinos, eclipse, enigma, patternless, etc. Lines and morphs are not the same thing, as an example your gecko and a Hyper Xanthic are the same morph (High Yellow), but they are not from the same line, only geckos descended from Hyper Xanthic stock get the line name "Hyper Xanthic."

It's not like royalties because no one is going to pay you jack when they take your name, lol. I still stick by hyper xanthic as not being a good example for what your asking though. Electric tangerine is a beeter example, and TUG snow, etc. Which also reminds me of the Mack snow dillema....it's the same thing as a codominant snow (another good decriptive name for the morph also used by JMG).
