I wasn´t sure were to put this question, hope it´s fine here!

If you hypernate (don´t know for sure if that is the right word..."winter sleep") very young Leopards, what can/will happend?
I have a read that this not shall be done the first year of their life...

It´s not hard to understand that to young animals that is born late in the season will be damage...will they normaly surrvive?

if you hibernate leos who is born early in the season (2-4 weeks for breeding purpose i see no problem with that.if they are healthy and have a good fat reserve in the tail.and watched closely) but normaly you dont need to hibernate leos the first year of age.

Well the thing is that I sold ( to a guy I trusted ) two very young Leopards!
He put them in hibernation in middle of november...
The first one that was hatched in the start of september died after 4 weeks...the second one, hatched late july, died two weeks later!
I feel so bad about this...and don´t know how to handle it!

I don't know WHY anyone would intentionally brumate such a young/small Leopard Gecko. Unless you told him it was okay to attempt it, I'd say it was his gross misjudgement and error.

Did you ask him why he tried brumating them?

No i didn´t...
When He mailed me and and told me about the first ones dead, I wrote back to him and asked what he was doing... and told him that he coulden´t do that with so young animals!
I don´t know if he stoped the brumation (is that the word?) then.
But yesterday he told me about the second one...

I have not cooled my geckos, young or adults. I noticed that they will do it on their own if the only light they get is the natural sunlight from outside. I notice that only the adults do this. Young hatchlings have all stayed active and eat. I would think it not safe at all to try this with such young geckos.
