Here is a hypothetical question: If you had a female Raptor and you also had a few Patternless Stripe females that are possibly het Raptor as well as an Eclipse male that is possibly het Raptor, would you breed the Raptor to the Eclipse because you have the best chance of making Raptors and breed the Patternless Stripe to something else, or would you breed the Raptor to a Super Snow to make Mack Snows het Raptor, or lastly, would you breed the Raptor to a Mack Snow het Tremper to make a few Mack Snow Tremper Albinos het Raptor? Remember, you only have one choice to make, and should be able to explain the reason you made that choice. I am curious to see what others would do.

I would do Raptor to SS to make Mack Snows het RAPTOR, then you can make super snow Raptors, and Mack Snow Raptors out of that.

I would do the same... The possibilities make the cross very interesting... If you could afford a male MS Raptor to breed all of the MS het Raptor females to the following season; making the hets will be well worth it...

I like Eclipse a lot. I would breed the Eclipse to RAPTOR. That way you could test out the Eclipse to see if he is het for Tremper or not. He could be very valuable to you if he is not het for Tremper. I think the Mack SS to the Raptor would be good as well. You could keep all of the females back from that and get a Mack Snow RAPTOR Male later this year and not have to inbreed to get very cool things..

I would go with the Eclipse Possible het for RAPTOR Male x the RAPTOR Female. Worse case scenario.. you end up with Eclipse 100% Het Tremper, RAPTOR etc. offspring.. Best case scenario.. You end up with Eclipse 100% Het Tremper offspring.. and you have an Eclipse Male to breed into Bell and Rainwater Albinos..

:smart: :devilish:

And.. I would also breed the Eclipse Male to the PRS... Why not?

Thanks for the responses. I would definitely breed the Eclipse to a plain old dookie brown Tremper female first to prove out whether or not he carries the Tremper gene before I pair it with the Raptor, but I am intrigued by the Mack Snow Raptor project, because I think they, as well as Super Snow Raptors look awesome. I haven't seen any updated pictures of any Mack Raptors or Super Snow Raptors lately, but I would love to..... (are you listening Matt?..Alberto? ...anyone....lol)

Why waste the male on a dookie brown tremper female? If you breed it to a RAPTOR [which is also homozygous for tremper] you would end up with the same adults, and not something that is totally worthless. [normals 100% het eclipse/tremper? snore] At least you already know the Eclipse/Raptor red eye gene is the same/compatible, so you will end up with something cool.

We are also doing the Super Raptor thing too! So, if you choose to do that, good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

I would also go ss X RAPTOR..down the line you can get way more different geckos from the pairing..not to mention the ss raptor and MS Raptors are pretty cool...

I know I know....lol.... It was a slow show, I didn't bring in enough cash at my table to buy a SSTA withoutr getting my head bit off at home. However, I should be producing (hopefully) a SSTA within the next couple of months. Of course, it wouldn't be ready to breed until next year anyway.... such is life. :(

At least I will already have some better odds next year of even more cool stuff.
