I caught a 40.5 inch musky, biggest of our trip because algae bloom was early, blah blah, 15 hour drive to canada and back. I went with my dad, my friend, and his dad. My friends dad as been going here for like 30 years now, and he said this was his worst year ever.

The first day, nothing, second day, im bored so i fish off the dock and i hook a 40+ incher and it gets off because i was too high up and couldnt reach it. The 3rd day we go for wallies and i catch a 25 incher, i have a pic i may post later, fourth day nothing, 5th day nothing but perch, 6th day nothing, and 7th day in the last 20 minutes of our trip were trolling, and i thought i got snagged, but i got on the 40.5 incher, we dragged it 30 feet because my dad was having problems with the enging. So until i got it about 30 feet from the boat it realized it was a fish, lol. It was already beat by then, so i get it in the boat, remove the hooks, (which was a pain cuz they have tons of teeth) and lifted it for a pic, then my dad tells me he forgot the camera:main_angry: . So i hold the fish in the water to revive it, let it go.

I get my name in their brochure though, prety cool.

And i thought i bumped into Paul Sage in the bathroom cuz i was in wisconsin and the guy looked like him.

lol We just got back from fishing up north too. The only place we stopped was in Bonduel (I think) on Friday night. I don't remember bumping into anyone though.

Yeah, it was a big truck stop / gas station next to a Burger King.

Sorry you didn't get a picture of the muskie by the way. All we caught this weekend were bass. Oh, and a snakey little Northern. I hate those things. lol

i love northerns, just not when theyre small and snakey. A fish quickly reaching the top of my favorites is carp. Get some corn, bait an area, and hold on. Hook anything 15lbs and up and in your in for a hell of a fight. I know i hooked an 18 pounder that fought me in heavy current for 45 minutes. In the area i catch them just a little bit of rain causes the current to really really pick up, like "knock-you-down" fast. So the carp that live there are really really strong for their size. not to mention your fighting in the current. My biggest muskie was 43 inches, also in canada. Man, that does sound like a stinker of a trip though, 7 days and that was it. I know id be mad.

Paul, I honestly don't remember there being a Subway connected to it, but there may have been. I think I had a white shirt on if that helps any. ha ha

Tom, the biggest fish I ever caught was a carp but it was a long time ago. There aren't any carp in the lake where our cabin is though. It's mostly large and small-mouth bass, northern, rock bass and random panfish & perch. My brother's girlfriend caught a big Walleye up there once, and this past weekend one of the other brothers caught what we think was a yellow perch. Really nice looking fish, I'll see if he can post a picture of it. I've never been muskie fishing though. Dad always meant to take us, but never got around to it. Hooking one of those would be pretty sweet.
