All animals with an external skeleton have to molt to grow. That includes insects, spiders, crabs, etc. It is a different process than a shed. A molt is a removal of the entire exoskeleton, leaving the animal vulnerable until the new shell dries and hardens. A shed is just a removal of the other layer of skin.

Even humans shed their skin, but we do constantly. Most of the dust in your house is dead skin cells!

Same here. I thought I had an albino cricket for some reason a year or so ago. Then I fed it to my gecko :p
