This last weekend I took a four hour long roadtrip to Austin, TX for the day with a friend to visit a reptile expo, and OH MY GOSH IT WAS WORTH IT.
I didn't mean to get anything new except maybe some accessories for my snakes and my bearded dragon, but I ended up coming home with a gargoyle gecko instead. Go figure.
My friend got himself a new snake after the tragic escape of his first snake, a corn snake named Tesla (who I still think will turn up sometime and then he'll have TWO snakes!) and while he meant to find another corn, he ended up getting a beautiful Columbian boa. Again, go figure!
While we were there we stopped to chat with some members of a herp society in Austin and got to hold a couple of lovely boas!
I have to admit, I fell in love straight away with this little lady. Especially when she decided to perch her head on top of mine and chill, watching all the goings on in the room!
I felt pretty honored to be able to provide such a warm and pleasing lookout spot. I can definitely see some boas in my future!
