Thanks to Tamara at DirtyStinkyStuff.com, I was able to build a great Rack for about $50 in materials.

http://www.redtailboa.net/forums/ho...-how-simple-melamine-rack-w-heat-du-nono.html

I spent $28 on the Malamine. $4 on the Peg Board. and $10 on the screws(had lots extra). I got the Malamine cut for free at the local DIY store. I also bought some optional edging for the Malamine that makes it more waters resistant-$4.

I got 24 6qt Sterlite Tubs with lids for a $1 each at Target.(some extra lids too, shhhhh;) )

The most expensive part of the whole project is the heat tape >_<. I needed about 24' of it to zig zag the back. I had some help financially with my mother on that part though(sometimes going home from college has its perks, and she supports my hobby)

I spent about $75 total, and had a great time building it on my own. Way cheaper than anything I have found on any rack site. I definitely suggest DIY.

Now I have a great Rack for all my future projects.

So I got that going for me, which is nice.:main_thumbsup:

well because it was all precut at the store, it took me about an hour to drill and screw in everything. It is very fun, but at the beginning i suggest having someone help you keep things steady.

Congrats!!! It looks great :). When I live on my own without parents to greatly restrict the number of pets and the amount of space they take up :)main_rolleyes: ) I will build myself a rack :D :main_yes:

Looks great!!! Do you have any pictures on how you ran the heat tape and what are you using to adjust the temp?

I haven't gotten the heat tape in the mail yet. But when I do i will post some pics.

As far as adjusting the temp, I haven't decided which thermostat to buy...

suggestions would rule.
