one of my eggs is 51 days old today, well when I candled it to see If it was moving still (the other hatched already I wanted to see if this one was alive still) I dropped it about one foot, and caught it UPSIDE DOWN in my hand! I flipped it back right side up IMMEDIATELY, but do you think it killed the gecko inside for it being dropped???? HELP, I know I shouldn't have been candling it and should have left it be in the incubator!

It could be okay since it's so close to hatching, I don't think the 1 foot drop would have hurt it too much, really.. best of luck with it!!!!

just FYI, you don't need to remove the eggs to be able to candle them; we just candle them as they sit, in the containers they are in. We take the container out of the incubator so that the incubator top isn't off for too long, but we NEVER remove the eggs to candle.

HINT.... No need to over react. When one gecko hatches, the other egg gets tossed, rolled and flipped sometimes and still hatches.

Baby is still alive? How long 'till hatch?

well, I candled the dropped egg today and the baby is alive, I could see it moving. That teaches me to take them out of the incubator, huh? How long does it take for all the eggs to hatch? The first one hatched 2 days ago and the other two still haven't. Is that normal? I'm a first time breeder

I dropped Drake Jr's egg about a week before he hatched. To this day I'll never know if he would have been more tangerine without the trauma, but he came out healthy! I was sooo relieved. I don't candle out-of-the-box either, anymore. The guilt! I never want it again!
