Monday (4-23) I start a "new" job
When I was in high school I volunteered at the boone county animal shelter. I wanted to be hired there but they never had any openings until now. So im one of the new kennel techs :D So basically I will be doing what I did before, only earlier in the day and for pay this time :main_thumbsup: Its only part time though, so I will be working at the deli still. 20 hours a week at each job. Then school ends soon too. That means more time for me :)
Im just going to have to get used to going to bed before like 2am now... I work 2-10pm at the deli, but the shelter job I work at 8am :anxious:
Aside from the sleep cycle change and the shots I will have to get (to keep me from getting rabies if im ever exposed to it) Im looking forward to it.

Congrats and Good Luck with your new job!!

I have never heard of shots for possibly being exposed to rabies

Are they as awful as the shots that you have to get when you are actually bit by an animal that might have rabies??

Thanks. As for the shots: im less likely to die, and it is less expensive, to get three shots before being exposed than to seek treatment after I have it/may have it. Ive heard that they hurt... and I hate shots. But I will be immune to rabies for a few years. Then they will start checking me every few years to make sure my body is still making immunities for rabies. If my body stops then I will have to get more shots, but from what Ive heard the first time is the worst. Volunteers dont have to get the shots because they are unlikely to be bitten, but now that im an employee I gotta get them. I got my physical exam today and was cleared to start monday :)
