I gotta new incubator!

And it's a fridge! My dh accidentally broke our mini fridge when he went to defrost it and I told him it was going to be my second bator. I know some of you have made them, any tips? Right now I think will be my female bator. I'm just so excited, I was going to purchase a second one so I could have one for males and one females and now I get a fridge one.

I bought a replacment heat element for a incubator..forget the brand. Put a herpstat on it and riped out all of the "coolong" stuff. thats about all there is too it.

Thank you much, I had seen that link somewhere and couldn't remember where. I don't think I live close enough to anyone who has done this to help, but I think I can muddle through it.

Well this took all about 10 minutes-and I didn't even have to do it, dh did That little generator thing really weighs a lot. Is there anything other than flexwatt that works just as well for heating? I don't like the fw that much but will use it if that's what works the best. I don't even know the best place to get it, so if someone can pm me maybe and let me know a supplier?

ok there are a few places on top of the mind you can get flexwatt.


first place that i would recommend is

for the 11" flexwatt it is $3.30 a foot (that is what you would need for the fridge)

if you are uncomfortable with wiring it, they will do so free of charge, all you
have to do is let them know the dimensions you need with your setup.

i do not think they will prewire, i was having some problems loading there site
so i cant give you a price there.

in my opinion best place to get it would be reptilebasics.

also do not forget a thermostat when running flexwatt.
