I currently have a discoid colony and a dubia colony, I'm thinking when all the adult discoids die, perhaps I should just let the colony stop there. Firstly, they produced way too much and too fast, but not all my leos liked discoids. The discoids also seem to be more difficult to swallow. Another thing is, besides the 2 roach colonies, I also breed mealworms and silkworms, but only got 7 little mouths to help me "take care" of the feeders (will be 9 little mouths in a few days ).
On the other hand, I'm not in the U.S. and its not that easy to buy roaches (don't ask me how I got mine last year...); so, its a pity to have to get rid of them just after a year. Also, having some discoids can add to the variety of food for my leos.
In conclusion, I still can't decide whether I should keep the discoid colony going. Maybe when all the adults died, I'll just pick 10-12 babies and let them start a miniature colony.
