I NEED HELP

Ive had my new gecko for about 2 weeks now. every time a walk past his cage he runs out and paws the glass . so when i go over to him he starts screaming and hissing !!! if he`s in a hut while im changing water or cleaning up poo he darts out and bites me !!! then runs around lunging at me !!!! he has drawn blood . what can i do !!!!!??!?!?!?!?!??!

how large is this gecko? that's pretty normal for a baby leo. especially the screaming. i have several babies that act that way and a few that bite, but the babies are usually way to small to draw blood. not sure any of my adults could draw blood actually. as far as what to do, give him/her some time to get a little larger and used to your hand being in the enclosure. once they are 15 grams plus, you should be taking him/her out daily or every other day and let them crawl around on your hand. eventually they will calm down and be easily handled.

he is a 1 year old 78 grm male

wow thats a big boy. did you get him from an individual or a pet store? i have some that bark at me, but have only been bitten a few times. the key is to somehow get him used to being handled by you. possibly wearing gloves when handling to avoid a bad bite.

Mine is only a few months old and he screamed at me once. He walks across my hand daily and just 10 minutes ago I lifted him several inches up. He is calming down but sometimes he's still squeamish. He's never bit me except when I hand feed him (occasionally) and it doesn't hurt at all. Just be patient and if he moves back take your hand out

In my experience i had an 8yr old leo and sometimes he was the nicest boy ever but other times he would scream and bite hard , he would draw blood every time. Guess it just depends on his mood
