I've had my first Leo for about three days now she's about 3.5-4 inches long and about 8 grams, she eats good and poops good, doesn't object to handling but would rather be left alone. so I'm going to take a few days and just sit quietly by the tank when I get off work as much as I can is this a good idea?

It's best to wait a week or two to begin handling to let them adjust to the new environment then just take it slow handling start by just letting it walk onto your hand then work your way to actually picking it up

It takes a while to build up that trust. Most of the time mine come around after about 2 weeks but that is with me putting my hand in their tank every day to feed, water or clean. They come to trust I'm not there to harm them. But I have had some males that never really warm up to being handled.

Yeah I have 3 males I've has for awhile and only one of them is good with being handled and not for a long period of time and all my females are great with being handled

I don't know what it is about some males they never really calm down. I have a adult male that loves to be held but I have a young male that bits me every time I mess with is stuff. I think the young guy is this way because the breeder cranked up the heat when he was incubating him to help with the colors. I have read that some females get aggressive when incubated at higher temps so maybe it does the same to males.
