Should i use uvb or not if so can i use the exo-terra 5.0 compact bulb because ive read somewhere about conjunctivitus. thanx for your answers im learning :main_thumbsup:
Cresties dont require UV lighting now if you have live plants you will need to provide them with some UV lighting but otherwise it is not needed. They are noturnal like leopard geckos
For what it's worth, I use Exo-Terra 5.0 UVB bulbs over all of my frogs. My Red Eyed Tree Frogs in particular show a preference for UV, I have an 18" Exo-Terra light fixture over their cage with a 2.0 UVB bulb on one side and a 5.0 UVB on the other, and the majority of them (usually 7 of 9) cluster under the 5.0 during the day. It's not a controlled scientific experiment, and has nothing to do with Cresties, just my observation of a nocturnal animal's behavior when given the chance for UVB exposure.
i just meant that plants need some form of light what is it i am not i used some kind of exoterra light that didnt emit heat when i had live plants with the cresties. but it got to be bothersome to turn them on and off all the time when i wasn't home much so i just did away with the plants and lights. but if you have no plants i wouldn't use lights for cresties unless you need some extra warmth if you have a cold house.even then you have ceramic heat emitters. my cresties been fine with no lights and i have leos too and they are fine with no lights.
