So i was on my way home from work yesterday when my mom called and told me she bought her, my dad, and myself plane tickets to visit my grandparents several states away, and i just bought my first Leo (first reptile actually), like almost a week ago, and one of my supervisors offered to take care of her (since i do not trust my best friend to do a good job of it) while im gone for six days... I'm really paranoid, what important info should i leave with her (her and her boyfriend have 3 cats, 2 bunnies, 1 gerbil, and 2 full sized chameleons, with the chameleons being her favorite, so theres a little trust there with reptiles)... i dont yet have a rheostat or thermostat (im gonna look into them on friday [payday]), just a cheap UTH, and a red light heat lamp, 1. reg in tank thermometer, and 1. digital thermometer with the little cord and actual sensor at the end; to stick anywhere... i have a moist hide, and a cave, large crickets (my Leo isn't full grown, but she's almost there, i didn't buy a juvenile), a water dish, a mister (for shedding), and substrate is regular papertowels (like bounty)... i'm doing my best to keep the temperature around 85 - 100 on one side, and 65-75 on the other, and i told her to do the same... so either, what do i need to let her know, what do i need in general, and/or what am i doing wrong?

I'm leaving in two or three weeks

I keep my temps around 91 hot side. Have you tried feeding meal worms to you leo yet? Make sure to tell your pet sitter about dusting the crickets or mealworms 1-2 times a week. I feed my leopards that age 12 mealworms every day. I have those red lights but with the warm weather I have kept them off for the last week. She might have to change the paper towels every 2 days. I can't think of anything else on the top of my head.

I also keep the temps around 91-92 on the hot side, and about 79-80 on the cool side. John pretty much covered it, I think. Make sure your caretaker changes the water daily and cleans the poop out/changes the paper towels every other day. If you think the gecko will shed while under her care, be sure to tell her about it and what she can do if the gecko has problems.. She can feed crickets twice a day (morning and night) or just leave in mealworms for half of the day.. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head
