I hate cars. Hate hate hate them!
A little back story first lol...
About 3 months ago my hubby blew the engine on his Mazda MX6 so he sold it. He has been driving my car since (a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT)
Anyway...
So today my hubby had to go to a meeting for work about 40 mins from us. He got home, parked the car in front of our house and came in. About 5 mins later we went outside to have a cigarette. I noticed smoke coming out from under the hood. We just thought the engine had over heated or something. So my hubby went and popped the hood to take a look
Guess what he saw?? OPEN FLAMES!!!! My freaking car had caught on fire!
So he ran to the neighbors (they work on cars all the time) and thankfully the one guy was there. So he grabbed a fire extinguisher and put it out (ours is buried in the garage somewhere; bad I know lol)
Meanwhile, I'm running around the driveway like a chicken with my head cut off. I finally ran in the house and watched them put the fire out through the peep hole LOL. No way I was I getting near that...the dang car could have blown up
So the tow truck comes and hauls the car to Econo Lube (our good friend works there). He looks at it and I guess a whole mess of stuff was wrong with it. He puts it on the lift and all of a sudden says "Holy crap!"
The entire undercarriage of the car (under the engine) was COATED in old grease and oil. Something had been leaking for a LONG time.
Insurance is covering it for the most part...but there is NO way I'm keeping that car! As soon as it's fixed we're getting rid of it
My hubby gets to buy his new Tiburon now, so he's happy lol :main_rolleyes:
