Very sad recent events.

I was wonder if it may help some other breeders if we took this topic to the main forum. We could keep names out of it and just say that it's small breeder or something. I'd be even willing to make the initial post stating that someone emailed me with pics and questions about their babies and with research and help from Marcia's vet we figured out what was going on. Paul we could use your pics.

I don't know I'm rabbling. But I really think this information could help so many leos out there.

This would be up to you two. I know how mean some people on the forums can be and I in no way would want it to be known that this happened to you guys. It could very well have happened to any of us. Paul if we did this post on the public forums, I would take your pics and host them on my site so they look like someone sent me the images.

Again it's up to both of you. I just really think this info should be out there to help others.

I have no problem admitting what happened. We all make mistakes and can over-look things. I don't care if it hits the main forums, but right now I'm really anxious to see what comes of the remaining babies. I guess I'd rather see what kind of future they might have and wait for Dr. Harkewicz (did I spell that right, Marcia?) to answer Marcia's questions though. Also, I'm really exhausted and don't feel like being bombarded with too many questions or accusations at the moment. Anyway, I'm cool with it and have been thinking about doing the same thing, I guess I'd just like to wait a few days. :shrug:

Paul and I have already discussed posting these tragedies on the main form, and we surely will when we are past the immediate crisis. Like Paul said, we have LOTS of questions for Dr. Harkewicz and would like to have that information available. Also, we really don't know what the prognosis is or what to expect on many of these little ones yet. The photos don't really even accurately depict just how bad some of these geckos are.

On a personal note, Paul and I are traumatized over this. I don't even feel like dealing with posting on the normal forum stuff right now, and certainly wouldn't be able to handle a H-U-G-E thread and all the questions and comments (even perhaps judgements) at this time.

I hope you didn't think I wanted this posted right now. I know both you and Paul need time to work on what's going on with the little ones that are still fighting, and your own emotions. I was just offering a means to keep your names out of it so that this could help others.

Felicia, I was thinking about this a little more and as much as I appreciate you offering to "host" the whole thing, I think it might make the Q&A part of things a little difficult. When it does hit the main forums, Marcia and I will just have to be ready to deal with it.

I'm just taking this part as inevitable. I'd rather just get used to the idea of people calling me a hypocrite and a fool now so that when it happens it won't be as much of a shock.

Man, I can't even imagine what this would be like right now if I hadn't started these new meds a month or two ago.

Felicia, I appreciate your willingness to be the buffer for us, but like Paul, I would rather go ahead and post what happened to us and our geckos and not be bigger hypocrites by using a 'second party' scenario. I believe the community deserves the truth and can truly benefit overall to the lesson(s) from these tragedies. I just want to be emotionally stronger and have my 'ducks in a row' first. Personally, I feel that I should be held at a higher standard than most, and would like to address this horrible situation as a professional with as many answers as possible.

You guys are awesome! The info you can provide is likely to save the lives of many geckos.

It is wise to wait until you are ready, though, as I'm sure there will be tons of questions and undoubtedly a few not-so-well-thought-out (aka rude) comments as well.
