Inbreeding?

I was reading an article on Gecko Time about Breeding Leopard Geckos on a small scale. In the article it states "Even though the results are the same, it can be more rewarding to breed an albino to a superhypo tang and then in the following season to breed the offspring to each other or to the albino parent."

How many of you inbreed? I never thought this would be a good practice! I could be wrong cause I have never bred Leopard geckos. I just thought to keep the blood line strong and deformities to a minimum you would never want to inbreed.

Thanks,
Brian.

Inbreeding is necessary to establish recessive or linebred traits. Reptiles are less susceptible than mammals to inbreeding depression, though most breeders outcross every few generations to minimize the risk.
