RampantReptiles and I went in together on a couple Ranco's. She ordered, so she'd be the one to ask for information. Since we ordered two, they were $90 each, including shipping. I've been very pleased with mine so far. You can set it to within a 1degree fluctuation.

I have used Ranco Thermostats on my Hoavbators and have hatched many eggs. However, I do prefer proportional thermostats when it comes to incubating eggs. This year, i will be going with a Helix.

I'm testing out my homemade incubator, which is just a 24qt Rubbermaid cooler with Helix thermostat. I have several water bottles at the bottom to stabilize the heat. However, there is still a 3 degree fluctuation in the first few days. I added 2 more water bottles yesterday (the maximum number I can fit in), and the fluctuation decreased to 1.5 degree.

Perhaps you can try putting more water bags or water bottles to your incubator to minimize the fluctuation.
