inhaled water

My gecko was taking a bath in very shallow water but while trying to escape, he slid down and it sounded like he inhaled some water. He looks normal now but I'm very worried. What can i do to help him?

Leave him alone in his normal cage or bin and let him have a day or two without handling. I don't think there's anything you can do but cross your fingers. In the future, I wouldn't put him in more than 1/2 inch of water and put a paper towel or rock in there for him to climb on. If you use 90-95 degree water in a sealed tupperware the humidity should do the work without him needing to be standing in the water.
