Anyone think that this thing would be pretty cool for storing insects and mealworms if it was cheaper? I think I would save alot of room....I think I may make one with 6 qt bins and one layer will have heat tape....well I dont know about the heat tape part but I think I will make one.

I made it here are some pictures of it....its still a little rough around the edges (literally), but hey it works!

Supplies:
1 24x48 piece of pegboard $4
1 24x48 piece of partical board 3/16" (I think that what it is) $5
1 stick of hot glue (cheap)
6 $.97 6qt. sterlite bins $6
About 45 mins to make it completely

I used Pegboard for the shelves because it already had ventilation holes it and it was lite and cheap. 45 minutes and $15 later, I am happy lol:main_thumbsup: :D

Here are the pictures:

*Also, I decied against heat tape for time and hassle reason.*

well, here's mine, I did it semi 3-D just to show it a little better. The 1x1 beams would be nailed with finishing nails in order to provide more structural support. Tough as Nails could be added for additional support...but I'm not to thrilled with the idea of using something that could possibly have fumes. this design can be adapted for feeders or as a basic rack.

Measurements would vary depending on personal preferences...I think I'll make mine for the 12 qt tubs, 4 across...maybe 5-6 high. It's a starter design, but the 1x1 beams give a little more support if you're making it wider. I plan on using Luan (sp) for the shelves and maybe melamine for the sides

Too advanced for me....try it and see how it works. I will stick with mine. Its small, light, cheap, easy, and quick. Also I can make them as big or as small as I want. I want to see what you are saying, really be build't, sounds like a challange JILL! lol
