Okay, so today I got my new male.... He's a halloween mask with a bit of lavender.... my female is a normal/wild.

But it's the first time that I try to introduce the 2 to each other and want to know what I should look out for?

When I introduced the 2 they started licking each others tail, then the female tried to bite the male on the neck, then the male rattled his tail, the female also did it but not so hard en frequent as the male. both of them is about 2 years old, the male is a bit bigger than the female. How long should I watch them and make sure everything is going alright?

Also is it okay that they stay together forever or should I place the male in his own container?

Have you quarantined the male? If you haven't, I would separate them immediately and quarantine the male for at least a month or two.

I agree with Joey. If you haven't had the male go through a quarantine period you could spread something bad to your female.

The male's fast tail rattling is basically a sign that he wants to mate. However, the female's slow raised tail going back and forth is a sign for the male to back off. And your female should be ovulating before you introduce a male to her.
I suggest doing a lot more reading and learning before jumping in to breeding.

Yes, he was in quarantine when I got him.

Thanks for the help, will remove him then... I did some research on breeding, just didn't find any of those things in the research. I also didn't get how do I know when she is ovulating?

If you havnt learned how to tell when a female is ovulating then you may want to hold back on breeding and so some long hard research.
