Hi everyone…
I'm new to this forum, which is amazing I must say, by reading dozens of posts and replies in the last couple of days I see that the members here are really nice :main_thumbsup: (well I tried to squeeze my good impression on this forum in one sentence).
so I thought that now is a good time to introduce myself and my Leo Paris and her setup :p
Paris is my first leo and I got here last august when she was about 3 months old… after endless hours of reading caring sheets and threads in forums I decided that im ready for a leo. I got all the supplies I needed, designed the terrarium so she feels like her natural habitat, or at least I tried :main_yes: (it took me like 3 weeks before it was suitable and ready for her to go in). I breed mealworms and supers for her since I thought it would be best for her that I'll breed her feeders since I can ensure that she's getting healthy food (plus it saves me money :D ) plus I'll start breeding silkworms soon since I have 2 huge mulberry trees near my house and I heard that they are great as a feeder. Okay enough with the words, Paris is really healthy and happy that’s basically what's important. So here are the PICS :

sorry for the double but i have few more pics:main_rolleyes:
the firsrt pic on the post above is the day that i got her and the rest of the pics are 6 months old i'll take more recent pics soon.
the Enclosure was made by non toxic materials !!!
its an Exoterra tall terrarium ( i got it for 50$ so i couldnt pass that deal) and pretty much everything is hand made (exept the north side background which came with the terrarium, and i had to paint it to fit the left background)
anyways thats Paris and her setup and thats me in the fourth pic in the first post.

So nice to hear stories like this, looks like Paris is super healthy!

I love the setup, one thing is to make sure that the slate can't fall. Outside of that, it's beautiful! I REALLY like the hide you built out of slate!

No worries about safety issues, I invested so much time making sure that’s everything is safe for my Paris 
Btw the slate hide was hard to make ( not that hard after I figured what exactly I'm going to build) but it came really nice here are some pics of the process (when you brake slate it breaks to sharp edged peaces and it took me hours to make the peaces smooth on the edges
Here are some pics :
pic 1: this is the slate tile that i had
pic 2: slate after i broke it :)
pic 3: the peaces of the broken slate after hours of rubbing them against the sidewalk :p ( thats the best idea i had since sandpaper was out of the question) and getting them to the shapes i wanted.
pic 4: putting the peaces to create the cave.
pic 5: making the humid hide with the tupperware and slate.

Impressive slate work. If the background you didn't make is the exoterra foam type watch out for the heat of the lamp melting it.

I see a second level constructed from slate in your future. There's no way you'll be able to resist all that height & not build up!

moosassah: thanks for the compliment :)
about the exoterra background, it will not melt since the paint and the sealant guard the styrofoam plus the lamp is only on for like 30 mins at night time while im feeding Paris.;)
about the second floor, i thought about it and you'r probably right :main_thumbsup: and in the futur i will make a second floor but this kind of project is really time consuming.

I LOVE SLATE!!!! I was about to make a humid hide like yours with some extra pieces I have myself... what did you use for glue?

And what is that substrate???:main_robin: tile?

Ipsl: i glued the slate with a non toxic sillicon (the kind to use for fish tanks) and the substrate is plaster that i molded on a piece plywood, seald it with sealant and painted for a natural sand look.
P.S- sorry for any spelling mistakes english is my second language:main_rolleyes:

That is a super cool tank....glad to see a newbie so enthusiastic about his leo. Paris is really cute too by the way and her tail is so fat it reminds me of one of our non breeder geckos named wiggles..Here is a pic of her and her fat tail

Best of luck with Paris and the 2nd story

Thanks she was our first gecko ever...and even though we have no place for her in a breeding project anymore she is just one that I cannot get rid of. She is ok with that I am sure though because she gets a huge tank to herself (she's not really friendly to other geckos lol)

Kimjorg : how old is she?
