Horses have pretty much been my life for the past 17 years, since I was 7. I would like to introduce my horses!
This is Liberty, he is a 19 year old percheron/thoroughbred gelding. I have been riding him since I was 10 years old, and he's been mine for last 6ish years. He ended up actually being a rescue. About 7 years ago he got loose from the paddock (someone forgot to lock the gate) and got a long rusty nail embedded in the sole of his hoof. When the vet came out he didn't to anything but give him a penicillin shot and a tetanus shot and wrap the foot. He didn't lance or drain the injury or clean it or soak it or anything. Needless to say Libby ended up dead lame. His owner at the time was getting a major discount on board by letting the barn owner use him for lessons, once he wasnt ridable anymore she couldn't afford the board, so she was going to send him to auction. A horse that big and that lame wouldn't have gone for anything but meat! So I asked her if I could buy him, and she gave him to me, no charge. Amd the rest is history! He's about 90% sound now, and the unsoundness comes from arthritis from his older age
This is Amber, she is a 5 year old percheron/thoroughbred mare. She doesn't have a long story like Liberty lol. I bought her November 2008 as an unbroken 4 year old and she's the first horse i've trained totally on my own! we;re hopefully going to start showing this year and im really excited!
And this little fuzz ball is Loki. He is the newest member of the group. He was rescued from an auction 2 weeks ago. It's hard to see with all the hair but he is nothing but skin and bones Paid $70 for him at the auction. He's a stud and is getting gelded early next week. We think he's around 3 - 4 years old and he's a miniature horse
