Irritated Vent revisited

I thought it was getting better, but now its come back. I have pictures this time. It seems to return for a few days and then go away again. I found that when the humidity is upped in the tank, it goes away, but as soon as it falls the problem comes right back. I am completely at a loss.

do you still have him on the repti carpet?? if so could it be that the roughness of the repti carpet is irritating it?? have you tried some nice soft paper towel?? I always buy the cheapest paper towels..but maybe something more name brand that is soft to the touch....ouch poor baby!

I would agree especially if it re-occurs every couple of weeks. I've see this happen in Chameleons before.

I've tried the soaks and them seem to work! Thanks for all the help!!! I got really worried after I'd had one gecko die from a prolapse so I got really freaked out when I saw him with a vent irritation...

Looks like it could still be a prolapse judging by the small size of the post anal swellings and the swelling below the pre anal pores. Sometimes the hemipenes will tuck/fold in to the ventrical opening, but pop out again durnig bowel movements. I'ld have him checked out just to be on the safe side. Good luck!

The issue seems to be staying same so I think I will take him to the vet just to be safe... I'd prefer not to lose another gecko until they get old...
