Is 16QTs Really Ok For A Single Adult?

I'm debating now whether or not I want to switch to smaller tubs to allow for more room on my rack. I've heard it tossed around that 16QTs is a viable size for a single adult gecko. Is this really true? I know the standard is 10 gallons per gecko.. And this is hardly 10 gallons!

Currently all my adults are in 32QT tubs. I could easily double my rack space if I switched to 16QTs.

Opinions?

I currently house all my leopards in the 16qt tubs. I just switched them from 32qt tubs to double my rack space as you said. When they were in their own 32qt tubs I noticed they used about 1/3 of the tub.( their moist hide and their warm/dry hide.) Now I only use a moist hide, warm hide, and food/water bowls in their new tubs. Since moving them some have actually gained a noticable amount of weight. IMHO think the 16qt tubs are actually a better fit for them.

Haha. I actually tested earlier by sliding everything in the 32QT tubs to one side, hides, dishes, etc.. And it's true, they make no use of that extra space!

I just wanted to make sure it's ok. I'm probably going to go out and by more 16QT tubs tonight.

16qt is perfectly fine, 32qt is a waste in my opinion. Just as you said they won't use the extra space.

16Q tubs are plenty big for a leopard gecko. You could house 2 females in something that size as long as there are 2 hides.
