I can tell he's getting bigger, and he seems to like me :) He was all over my sleeve while my husband tried to get a decent picture. I bought some wax worms and gave him one tonight... I didn't actually expect him to eat it! He gobbled it up the second I turned my back on him :) Shy eater, but thankfully he's in one of the quieter rooms here. His tail seems to be growing too

Wax worms are ok, what.... once a month? He's eating, so I'm not worried about getting him to eat anymore, but I'm all for "candy" worms... I spoil the beardie, might as well begin to spoil little Kirin a little too :main_thumbsup:

Aw he's cute. I remember when Eros was younger. I also recall when he was fixin for a growth spurt he seemed to paunch up a bit in the gut like that too, then next thing ya know he's an inch longer. He actually looks like that now but because he ate a shed yesterday.

As far as the waxies, anything in moderation right. 2-3 a month isn't gonna make him an addict imo.

I'm not all about obese pets, so I understand moderation :) He does look cute as a little chunker though! Especially since I was so worried for about the first, oh, two weeks about him not eating! He's still small, about the size of my index finger... I have smallish hands, and you can see how big my pinky looks in that picture.

roger, how many do you give them?

i give my leos as many wax worms as they will eat once a month.Although they are very high in fat all my leos are robust and full bodied.i also give them a mix of crickets, superworm and various feeders.they are all awsome looking.

I don't have any superworms at the house since Ryuu's currently brumating... she eats them... and the crickets have grown a bit too large for Kirin right now... but the last time I offered them, he ran away from them. I'm going to try and wean the beardie off ONLY worms once she wakes up, so I'll have a better supply of crickets then... I don't buy from the local pet stores... too big and really unhealthy looking :( Kirin seems to be doing well on mealies though, which is nice.

can I gut load them with the stuff I use for the crickets? Forgot the name, Fluker's something or another... brown grainy stuff. There's some in their dish and a carrot... that ok?

He sure is changing!
I know!! I'm having fun watching him :) If you couldn't tell lol

I wonder how old Kirin is... doubt the store could tell me. I think this little man had maybe a week, 10 days tops between sheds... I guess when food isn't limited and conditions are right, they sprout!

I lubs this little guy :) watching him is so much fun!! (I'm a complete nerd, I know :) )
