Is a Snow/SS/SS RAPTOR project a good idea?

I'm looking to get into breeding, however I also want to be able to make some money to expand and afford new breeders down the line. My main goal is to produce some SS RAPTOR's but online searches have retrieved naught on how much these guys usually go for. Anyone mind informing me?

Hey do whatever you want just remember you probably won't make money for a dew seasons

I would definitely keep the first few clutches to improve the stock, I'm just wondering how common the listed morphs are. I know snows are common enough, but what of super snows and SS RAPTORs?

SS are common SS raptors though I'm not sure. But if your breeding virgin geckos you may not get that many clutches. For example my virgin female layed two clutches so try to breed in groups like 1.2 or 1.3

When looking at what to breed, don't just look at their price. Just because some breeders sell super raptors for $1,000 doesn't mean you'll be able to sell them for even half that. The problem with super raptors, imo, is that they look exactly like diablo blancos. Without knowing their genetic background, you put two side by side, you won't be able to tell a difference. And DB's are mostly in the $150-$200 range these days. As for super snows they are common and most go for under $100 these days.

So my suggestion is to look into gecko morphs more, find out what people are buying, and not just look at the price and pick the most expensive to breed. If you want to breed super raptors because you love them, then by all means go for it. Breeding what you enjoy is the best reason to breed a certain project. But if you are aiming at money making, like someone said above, you most likely won't make money for a few seasons (that's a few years). The cost will add up and you'll know soon what that means if you really do want to get into it.

Anyways hope that helps, good luck :)

Definitely helps. I do love the way Super RAPTORs look and posting here IS my way of finding out more. I'm having a hard time finding what's really popular though. Seems everyone has their own preference. I liked the idea of breeding for Supers because they don't appear as common. As for them looking like Diablo's...They are similar but from what I've seen I prefer SSR's to DB's (or maybe I'm just fooling myself into thinking I can tell the difference).

SSR were in high demand a year or two ago but have become more common, and dropped down in price. You would be extremely lucky to get $200 for one being an unknown breeder.
DBs on the other hand are high in demand, although price is $150-200 they go pretty quick.

You are exactly right. There is a considerable difference between a DB and a SSR when you look closely. SSR tend to have a very distinct pattern, usually striping that you can see. All SSR have a visible dorsal stripe and solid red eyes as well. DBs have no pattern, have an overcast of yellow to no yellow at all, and not all have solid red eyes.

SSR I produced this year. One obvious striping, other no striping but both have the dorsal stripe.
