If you are referring to the size of tail....it is not pencil thin, which is good. But ,it could use some fattening up. Is he eating ok?

It is normal for them to hide during the day. They are more active at night. Start counting how many worms that you put in his cage. That is a good way to see what has been eaten. Also if you can, get a scale, and weigh him.

He could have parasites. Which could explain no appetite.

I brought him to vet.

Vet. said there shouldn't be any sand. You should place coco husk, coco peat or carpet. Sand makes his under cold and he doesn't feel himself hungry.

Do you think it might be true?

Also suggested me to place a heating pad under his cave. While he is sitting inside the cave, he can burn the foods easily.

Yes, sand is not good. Paper towels or reptile carpet is the best. They need to thermoregulate. They need a warm side around 92, and a cooler side. A heat pad would help, definitely.
