Is Exo-Terra sand ok?

Personally, I think there's too much risk of impaction with ANY type of sand or loose substrate, even if the product is marketed as "safe" and/or "digestible" for leopard geckos.

If you're wanting a more natural-looking set-up, try slate or ceramic tiles. :main_thumbsup:

I am just curious. I understand sand is bad for our babies but what about in the wild. They survived out in wild before someone discovered them for marketing. Where they are from is covered in sand. Any thoughts. Btw I would never ever put sand in the house.

Actually, where they live there its more of a rocky substrate from what i understand. Sand will give them impaction from grabbing their food or licking the ground if a good amount is ingested. I dont recommend sand at all.
