Is it possible to use Dubias as feeder without breeding them?

I want to try them but absolutely don't want to breed them. If I bought 50 or so, would they live until I used them all? Are they too expensive to use without breeding? Would I feed them to maintain them? Could I keep them alive in my cold garage?

They would not do well in the garage....as they will die if your garage is cold. They need WARM temperature.

As for trying them out to see if your geckos will eat them, by all means, but in any case, you will have to house the dubias just as you would any feeders. The only difference with dubias is that you have the heat requirement.

They don't smell once you figured out the correct temp (that was my learning curve), then pretty much take care of themselves. I started with about 250 various size with a few adults, now they are reproducing and I am able to slowly feed off the 'general population'

I think the #1 benifit of the dubia roaches is how long they live. if kept around 75 deg they grow super slow, a group can be kept in feeding size range for months, im feeding hatchlings from 4g to 30g from a group of several thousand from Oct.
