is it too late ?

i purchased a pair of proven breeders (but not bred to eachother) about 2 weeks ago and they are housed together in a 30 gallon reptile tank getting alon fine. is it to late in the season for them to breed and will i have to wait a year ?

shes not ovulating, do you think she will or is it too late in the season?

are you saying they can ovulate any time during the year? i thought just in late winter / early spring ?

I had one that was ovulating late fall/early winter. I don't think it's too late yet. Good luck!

If you supply leopard geckos cues to breed, ie, temperature, lighting or photoperiod, they will act appropriately. In different parts of the USA, the seasons are different. Out west our leopards, cued naturally and not induced (that's a whole other ugly ball of wax), start laying in the early spring and mine in particular lay till late August/early Sept.

50grams for breeding weight? This keeps creeping upward. I'll stick with my 45 g as a general recommendation. That works fine and does not pose a risk to their health. If you really want to take no chances breed them in their second year, not their first, if they are at "weight."
