raptor.jpg white and yellow raptor.jpg sr 1.1.jpg sr 2.2.jpg sr 3.1.jpg sr 4.2.jpg hey I bought a pair of geckos. one a regular raptor and one a white and yellow raptor. I asked a reputable breeder about the white and yellow raptor and he said it looked like a snowglow raptor. my question is what do you guys think because I feel at least one of the babies are w/y and there's definitely snow in there so I do not know what to think or label babies as. the parents are the ones that have the price on them.

I made a video of all of them in the same bin so you could really compare colors. I think the half stripe and half banded one and the "washed out" one are both white and yellow, and I think all 3 of the light ones not the dark one are snows. they are all guaranteed raptors tho. can anyone help?

It's hard to tell and to put an appropriate name for the babies without knowing what they truly are wouldn't be right. I would recommend test breeding the adults... Atleast the male to see what you get... Breed him to a snow female / albino female and an eclipse. That should give you a nice a look at what he's carrying genetically.

i know..thats why theyre not up for sale. as for test breeding i bred it to the raptor and every baby is a raptor so 100% male anf female are tremper and eclipse. as for the snow i believe the male is snow..as for the female being snow i couldnt say i believe that. next year they will be bred together again to see if i get a super. and im hopeing soo much the half banded and half striped baby is a female so i can breed it back to dad since they look the same.. ;)

I've only hatched a couple w/y, so I'm not much help. I'm not really seeing any definite signs in those baby pics. I hope someone else can help you out. Maybe e-mail the person you bought the w/y from and see what he/she thinks, too.

After whatching the video I would say first and last are W&Y tremper eclipse though many will say raptor, That second Possible a W&Y mack raptor, not sure never hatched one. But the other to look just like my W&Y you see in my avatar as a hatchling. Man did you hit he odds.

Just watched the video. I think the light one with the orange U on its head is a w/y.

thanks anthony!
your welcome, sorry I wasn't more help though.
I just watched the vid as well , I think the one with the stipe on the back is prob W&Y and the other one with broken pattern an lots of white prob W&Y. Those 2 look similar to W&Y raptors I've seen... The other 1 is difficult to tell. Contact the person you bought the breeders from. Ask who's line of W&Y it is, try to compare them to the sellers W&Y raps and to the original breeders W&Y raps. Awesome geckos ! Good luck with them

Good indications of white and yellow is the large white mark on the neck like Chris's pic above displays. Also high white sides, and a white dorsal stripe. Paradox type spotting is another good indicator and "cleaner" looking tails. Hope this helps.

Here is the issues.. And they are just things to keep in mind.

1) W/Y is tied to Hypo... and with one of the parents being hypo.... (super hypo) This can throw things off. I have hatched animals with no yellow at all from hypo lines.

The above is one of them and is not a snow or an albino

This is something to think about when talking about snow. But I do see where the snow is being brought up here.

Now more on the W/Y I have hatched many. Moreso bell then Tremper but I have messed up on Tremper a bit becuase my male is a G Project W/Y Het Raptor. So I am getting animals I thought were W/Y that are not. IMO.

What would I call the above. If I could trust the source that sold the W/Y to me I would say W/Y for the ones mentioned. But as we all know there are geckos out there that look W/Y that are not. The G63 line tangs look the part but are not.

W/Y is so far all over the board some are amazing others are not. Really it is a hard morph to get down. I know some will say I have it and blah blah blah. I know aperson that breeds W/Y rainwaters. Some are AMAZING! But he said it is the hardest thing to tell the W/Y in. Because he is using a Hype line

This is the reason I'm buying a pure white and yellow male! lol :)...I Should have him in 3 weeks, he will be perfect breeding size / age for next season. Then the w&y fun begins here!
