I've had my male leopard gecko for just over a week now.

He was on sand in the pet shop and for the first few days i had him, hes been on paper towel since.

The 2nd day he did 2 poops that looked pretty normal.

A few days later he did a normal one that looked like it had some sand in it.

A few days after that he did one that was about a 3rd of the brown stuff and the rest was grey and hard.

Tonight after being put into his new home he has done a totally grey one.

All the poops had the white urates part and have been pretty solid.

When i first got him i noticed he was licking the sand quite a bit and since being moved to paper towel he seems to like eating the calcium a lot, even fell asleep in the dish.

Since we've had him hes only eaten 2 crickets and 2 mealworms to my knowledge. I have a dish with a few worms in all the time but havent seen him eating them. I change them every day for new ones to make sure they have been fed.

When i got my little guy from the pet store the guy said the powder he gave me was all he needed, but after looking it up it seems it is just calcium. Im pretty sure it doesnt have any D3 in it.

Could the grey poops be just because he is eating the calcium and not the food or is he eating so much calcium because he isnt getting D3?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

D3 is a vitamin and there is a alot of different information on the amount they should have. Just keep the dish of calcium in there and he will get some as needed. I would watch him for any signs of impaction do a search and you should get lots of info on it. As for the eating and poop it could be stress just keep his temps up so he can digest and watch him. Way to go on doing the right thing for the gecko I know he will appreciate it.
