Is my Gecko impacted?

Hello I have had my juvenile gecko for about a week now... He didn't eat for the first few days. Then I started seeing some crickets disappear more and more everyday... Just tonight I went upstairs and saw him in his bathroom spot on top of his humid hide in the corner. I noticed his stomach looks fairly LARGE. I was surprised.. Could my gecko be impacted?

I watched him for a while and maybe I could tell you guys his behavior

- He walks to his bathroom spot for about 2 minutes on the cool side then goes back to the rock on the hot side (it always seems like hes sleeping)

- He seems kinda slow when he walks (could it be because hes young?)

- I believe hes still eating.. I placed a worm in his dish along with some leopard gecko food its like dried up flies and insects fortified with vitamins and I placed some calcium in there as well

I use repti bark by zoo meds so Im worried he may be impacted... But most of the bark is bigger than his head.

Any tips or suggestions and advice would be much appreciated

Well, get rid of the bark, use reptile carpet, paper towels, or tile.

You can either soak him in a bit of warm water and massage his tummy to see if he will poo, or massage his stomach with a warm wet washcloth.

I agree with Sara...lose the bark. If it's causing you to worry, it's not worth it. There are many non-particulate substrates that can look very nice! Also, lose the leopard gecko food, it's rather pointless as these geckos have a prey drive...they (majority of the time) will only go for things that are moving. It's sparks their feeding response, and away they go! Stick with those crickets and mealworms for the best results.

Also, calm down....if he's eating, and defecating then he's not impacted :) Sometimes, when they eat a lot, they get little pot bellies, and their stomachs will look just HUGE. That will usually slim down within a few hours of proper digestion, assuming they have correct belly heat.
