Is my gecko 'special' or a circus drop out?

I really don't understand my gecko's newest way of entertaining herself. She is about 5 or 6 months old, growing fast, and very active. In her little home she has a not so stationary paper towel tube for one of her hides. She has always loved moving the tube around but the last few nights she has found a new way to have fun. She keeps climbing on top of the tube and tries to balance on it. The vast majority of the time she barrel rolls face first into the ground. But 5 minutes later she is back on top trying to 'ride the bull' again. I am starting to regret putting her cage in my bedroom. I keep waking up to *scratch scratch scratch* *silence* *THUMP*. :stars:

Did I just end up with a 'special' gecko or has she made herself 'special' from the repeated crashes or was she a circus performer in a past life? :freak:

Ummm, most geckos do this if you put a paper towel roll in there. I have never seen one NOT do it. Just like if you put an actual log or fake log in there for her to hide in, then they will climb on that... the only difference being that the log will not roll forward.

I haven't had geckos before and the other one I got doesn't do it, so I really wasn't sure if this is common or not. I just can't figure out what the heck sense it makes. This gecko is definitely a nut though. Last night I walked into the bed room and she was straight up on her back legs against the glass staring at me as I walked in. She also loves giving my cats the evil eye like she can kick their butt. :main_laugh:
