The males that I bought some years ago (2002/03) are all big boys, 95+ grams, one even reached 110g and they are all non-giants. The 2 new geckos that I bought last year only manage to reach ~75g and seemed to have stabled at 75-80g. I am not just referring to weights, their overall size are only about 80% of my older ones.

What does everyone feel about the size trend of leopard geckos? Are they generally getting smaller? But I also remember someone (Marcia, is that you?) said that leopard geckos used to be ALOT smaller many years ago, 35-40g? So their size suppose to be getting bigger and bigger now-a-days...?

I seem to think that the leos are getting bigger overall. I think since we as a whole have a better understanding about their nutrition and overall care, they tend to grow at a quicker pace.

I think leopard geckos are getting bigger! Greg is right... now that we are learning more and more about their husbandry, supplementation, and feeding, they are overall becoming larger.

100% agree with both..

from my experience i've seen nothing but larger and larger leos.. in part definitely to the gain in our knowledge regarding their feeding, supplementation, etc.. but also people want larger and larger animals leopard geckos.. so they are line breeding at even the most novice level..
