Is there a way to determine the size of a gator by its skull?

there is, but i cannot remember how they do it.....i'll see if i can find anything

i copied an pasted a section of something i found, about this:

As an example, Chabreck (1966) suggests that the distance between the eye and the tip of the snout in inches is similar to the total length of Alligator mississippiensis in feet..

so if its 10 inches from the eyes to the tip of the snout, the gator would be around ten or so feet. i do know its not 100% this is just a way to estimate, so you cant really determine the exact size, but you can get a general idea of "about" how big it was.
