Is there any other way to sex a leo other than the v shape of spots near the abdomen.

Either if you see hemipen bulges, or if it's a hatchling or eaven a juvie you might get lucky with this method: http:http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=26095
That method helped me alot, although its not really proven 100%.

The bulges. It's usually pretty easy to tell by the time they are several months old, or about six inches long.
