I got a new leopard gecko at NARBC on sunday and she has been acting a little weird since I got her. Sometimes she will twitch her legs and her head. She will also scratch her head with her back legs like a dog (it doesnt cause bleeding). Last night I tried to feed her and she wouldn't take the food. Her temps are right and I know they need belly warmth to eat. None of my books tell me what this is. Please help!!

I've seen my geckos scratch like a dog, but am not sure why. I wouldn't worry too much about it, and she should start eating after she settles in to her new environment.

Are there any specs on her skin that could be mites?

Ive never had any so not totally sure what they look like but the scratching could be some indication of something on the skin.

Every now and then i see mine scratch the side of their head like a dog, its pretty cute :)

Hopefully its nothing though, we all get itches sometimes ;)

she's probably just getting used to her new enviorment. give her time, make sure she doesnt have mites. i think she just may be stressed. my leo insisted on biting me to take out his frustrations when i first brought him home. i'd rather have an itchy leo than one who wishes to eat me. :)

Thank you all!! I contacted my breeder and he says the same thing. Thankfully she doesn't have any mites. I haven't handled her at all, so I'm going to leave her alone for about 30 days.
